I am having a hard time lately trying to balance....more like decide if we want to extend our family or if I want a career. I hate that I have to decide, I really wish I could do both. I love my job and really do not want to work anywhere else besides being a full time mom of course! But unfortunately that is just not in my cards at this time. So there is the endless question of late.....do I want a baby or do I want to be a manager and move up in my company?
So far the work has won, but maybe won is not the word as I have not stopped thinking about baby so I guess work has postponed it so far. I know my workplace is supportive of flexible hours and finding the balance between work and home. The issue is that the flexible hours do not work if you are a manager, at least not as far as I have seen.
So my question to anyone who reads this (since my updates are so few and far between I am not sure if anyone reads it lol) but back to my question. To all of those out there with kids and jobs how do you find the balance and are you getting what you want to get out of your career or do you find that it is either one or the other? I am interested to see how others do it!

Catch up
Well since the last post we did some world travels. My best friend got married and did it all on a big boat! We went on a cruise to celebrate the nuptials. I was petrified, as I have a fear of boats but I made it through, and actually enjoyed it! I would do it all over again. Don't get me wrong I had some issues with the rocking of the boat but all in all it was a fabulous vacation.
It was Steve and I's first trip to the Caribbean and first beach vacation. I have never seen such beautiful water before in my life. It was so clear and warm. We did some snorkeling and got to see stingrays, barracuda, puff fish and more. It was amazing.
We did a segway tour on the boardwalk in St. Marteen and that was by far the funnest thing I have done in a while. I was a little cautious as I tend to be a bit of a klutz but after a few minutes (and a few beers) I loosened up and was rockin the segway!
The wedding was fabulous, I got to be the MOH, my first official wedding party duty. I got to dress up in a beautiful gown and be all glam for a day. Sarah was stunning of course and I hope it was everything she wanted and more!
Our last day on the boat we got to go for a tour of the bridge and the Captain popped in for a quick hello. We got to sit in his chair and drive the boat. It was pretty cool!
All in all I am sure I will be on another cruise soon.
Now back to the mainland with my feet planted firmly on the ground. Next trip will be San Fran next spring with Michelle then off to see Mickey again in the fall! Phew...I love to travel lol!

This weekend
Happy Easter everyone!!
I hope you all had a great weekend and were able to spend it with the ones you love!
I actually got some rest this weekend but it has left me with a list of things to still do on my day off!
Friday I had a nice relaxing drive out, with no kids, to see the best Aunt in the world!! My Aunt Nan has an amazing ability to help me out whenever I need it no matter how last minute! I needed some help fixing my bridesmaid dress for a wedding I am in next week and my mom's sewing ability ended up to be subpar to the task at hand. Aunt Nan thankfully came to the rescue and fixed it all up for me! I really do appreciate it and I hope she knows how much, she seems to always be there whenever I need her. I also got a chance to have a nice visit with her with out having to worry about what my boys could break or get into!
On the way home I stopped to see my biological family. My sister Charidy and her family, Brenda and Peter were all there to go out for lunch. We had a nice visit and headed back to the house to visit some more. Charidy I found out, Can not sit still! I felt so bad I actually helped with the yard work, and for me that is a strech as if I had it my way we would have no grass, a fake tree and fake flowers! I really do not have anything green about either of my thumbs.
The boys and Steve got to go cheer the roughnecks on that night. The boys love anything to do with any sports and Stevie loves going to the Saddledome, or as he calls it the Staduim lol. The both were cheering like mad Steve said but they were too tired to head down after the game to see my friend, who is a cheerleader for the team. I was upset as it is her last year with the team and I would have liked a picture with the boys, hopefully we will get another opportunity.
Saturday we had a great time at the easter egg hunt in our community. Our fiend Terilee and her son joined us for the festivities. The boys did a sack race, painted flowerpots for Granny and colored on the sidewalk. It was just enough excitement for them! After that it was off to Granny's for Easter dinner with Great Grandma, Uncle Jim and the rest of the usual group. As usual mom put on a great feast and we were all stuffed when we left.
Today the boys woke up to follow the easter bunnies foot prints to all the chocolate that awaited for them. They seemed to love it and by the end had two full baskets of goodies. Unfortunately the early morning chocolate did not have such a great effect on them all day. They both had meltdowns on an off today and went to bed really early!
So here I sit now in my nice and quiet house with Jack on one side of me Daisy at my feet planning all I have to do tomorrow...sigh. I really thought I was more organized then this but at least the dress is done so that is crossed off my list!

I prefer Mosquitoes over this bug
Well it has been 6 days of the flu in our house, and this one is sticking around. Stevie got sick last Saturday and still is not good. Steve was next followed closely by Cooper while I was sleeping on the couch, I really dont like being woken up like that! I thought I had excaped it but alas, the bug bit me today. So now I sit shivering on the couch suffering with my kids, what a good mom hey! I could not let them go thru this alone.
So if anyone has any magical cures for the flu please send them my way we need to exterminate the bug I am done with it!
