My Foot is Gone Mom......

So it has been a pretty slow week. WIth the big dump of snow we got we have not been out much. Today we did go to Ladies time out or as Steven calls it School. It is a place where Steven goes to play with other kids his age and mom gets to go with no kids and do whatever she wants from crafts to just talking. Today Cooper stayed home with Steve as I had to finish one of my Crafts this week and I usually keep Cooper with me so I don't get as much done as I should. Steven loves it but is pulling his shy self and will not walk in there, he makes me carry him into the room everyday but once he is there he loves it. We call it school so that when it comes time to go to a real school he is not scared. I hope it works because the way he is growing I will not be able to carry him for much longer!!

On the way home I promised him McDonalds but he started to take his shoes off in the car which isnt really a big deal but they are kind of a pain to get on so it really just annoys us. I told him if he did not have his shoes on that we could not eat McDonalds knowing that he had already taken one shoe off. I asked him if he had his shoes on, he said yes. Then I said how many shoes do you have he said one, I said well then how many feet do you have he said One. Then he started to tell me he lost his other foot and doesn't know where it is. "My foot is gone mom, It is all gone". I could not help but laugh, all this so that he could have McDonalds and not get in trouble for taking off his shoes, how can you not laugh. What an imagination. Needless to say, amazingly as we were pulling out of McDonalds, with Fry in hand, his other foot showed up unharmed!!

To play hockey or not to play hockey? Is 3 too young?

We are thinking of Starting Steven in Hockey in the fall. I almost feel he is too young but also I think he wpuld enjoy it. I honestly am torn on what to do.

I know we need to get him out on real skates before we make a decision. The choice is either Dance class with Paige or Hockey with my cousins son's little tyke team in Blackie. I know Steve would love for him to play already, but I think he may be a little too young still.....who knows!

Paige is 4!!

We all went to Paiges 4th birthday party on Saturday. Steven was very excited and he had been practicing singing "Happy Birthday" all day long. As soon as we walked in the door the excitement changed to shyness. He is in the shy faze now, he is shy anything there are new people around or if we are in a big crowd of people, wether he knows them or not. He sat cuddling with Aunty Mike, Nana or me for over an hour. It seems completely unlike him so I am hoping it is only a faze and that it will pass soon. When he realized there was other boys there and food he seemed to finally loosen up a little, then there was no stoping him.

He was playing upstairs when the gifts were being opened and made a quick appearance at the end of the gift opening. I was upstairs with Cooper and I could hear Steven comming back up. All of a sudden everyone downstairs started singing "Happy Birthday". Steven turned right around on the stairs and hurried down as fast as he could yelling "wait....wait.....wait". After all the practicing we did all day long, he missed singing Happy Birthday to Paige. Poor boy, I don't think he was as affected by it as I was!

After all of this he was playing outside with the boys on the deck. Before we knew it, someone was telling me Steven was in the wet grass with no shoes on. He was standing a the other end of the yard, saying "Mom....can you come get me?" I too had no shoes on so a friend a the party went out to rescue him from the swampy grass. His feet were frozen and his socks and pants were soaked, but he was laughing so at least he was having a good time now!!

Cooper was pretty laid back the whole time, he went from person to person with no problem and had a few cat naps in the middle. He really is a good baby and always so calm and happy. We are quite lucky but I am also scared of what is to become when he is Stevens age because Steven was a very good baby too. I think we are going to have two crazy and kooky kids on our hands in a few years, but we love it and would not have it any other way!!

A walk in the park.....

Today has been a pretty laid back day. I was hoping to get way more done then I did. We made a Creative Memories delivery, then I was to go to the bank but I forgot my wallet at home so that was a no go. It was almost a good thing because Steven was with me and he was surprisingly excited to go. I was shocked at his response when he said "I lub to go to the bank", then I remembered Nana takes him and Paige to the bank all the time. The reason he was so excited is that Nana (my mom) allows them to run around her bank when she takes them there and to him a trip to any bank means he gets to run around like a crazy boy. We now have to try to unprogram him and teach him that this is not acceptable behavior.

Then we were going to get a car wash as when I was on Deerfoot I realized I couldn't shoulder check all that well since I now can not see out my windows. I am the biggest procratonator when it comes to washing the van and filling it with gas. I alway do both at the last possible second. Well apparently so do all the other people in my neighborhood as there are 5 stalls at the car wash and there was at least 5 cars in each line. Needless to say, it was 11:30 I was hungry, Cooper was going to be hungry soon and I didnt have a movie or book in the van to keep Steven occupied for the time it would take, so I went home to continue to procrastinate about getting a car wash.

After lunch we went for a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather. To me a walk with the boys is much more fun then going to the bank or washing the car anways! Steven talked the whole walk, I listened the whole walk and Cooper slept most the time. I have to laugh at Steven, as we were walking some guy who lived on the pond was taking apart a gate. He was using a wrench or something that was making a noise. Steven right away stops in his tracks and says "Mom, I hear a funny noise, but not funny ha ha." I don't know where he comes up some of the stuff he says!!

We played at the park, saw some birds, heard a bunch of "funny noises" and saw some puppies. We walked around the pond, checked out other peoples back yards and got the mail. Now that I think about it, this was a much more productive day then I thought it was!!

Cooper slept through the night for the first time!! I was shocked when I woke up at 5:00 and he was just waking up. He has been a regular on time feeder at 2:30 every morning until last night. It was nice to have a full 7 hours of sleep for the first time in over 3 months. This is a big milestone so I am crossing my fingers that this is the first of many full night sleeps!!

A Star is Born

Today we went to Paige's dance recital with Nana, Papa, Auntie Mike and Great Gram Engen. Unfortunately Shane and Carolyn could not make it due to they work schedules.
She was amazing. The shy little Paige we are all so used to has disappeared. She was the star of the show with no fear as she leaped and twirled around. You could tell this is definitely what she loved to do. She also is very proud of her teacher, as Paige said "She knows lots of neat things so we have to watch and listen to her." Apparently Paige was quite the dancer in class, she often had the other parents laughing and from what I heard she is quite the social butterfly during class.

Steven was sitting on the edge of his seat wishing he could join Paige, maybe next year!! In the mean time Paige will teach him all the dance moves that she knows, he already will stand on his toes put his arms above his head and do circles! Steve is okay with this as ballet is used as a training tool with some sports so it is acceptable to have him dance if in improves his athletic career!!

It is so much fun to see how much Paige has grown just in the last year. It is hard to believe that she is already 4 years old, time goes by too fast!! I look forward to many more recitals!!

Day at the Zoo

We took the boys to the Zoo with Granny, Aunt Mara, Great Granny, Uncle Jim, Aunty Lil, Syd and Jordan. Steven loved being with Jordan and Sydney and now he can't wait to go to their house. He wanted to go there on the way home from the Zoo but he did not understand that they lived in Kelowna and it is too far to go today. His faveorite part of the zoo was the "Mighty Machines". They are redoing the Elephant exhibit and he loves the construction machines. He will spend hours just watching those if you let him. I think we should just tour construction sites instead of paying for the zoo passes, lol!! Steve got to come with us this time since he doesn't start work until 3:00. It is nice being able to go out with him during the day. When he was working days, me or the boys were always too tired to do a big outing at night. We definately enjoy him being here with us in the mornings and Steven loves having us both here when he wakes up. He is a morning person and was always sad when he asked for Dad in the morning and I had to tell him he was at work. Well I too am tired from the day at the Zoo so I am off to bed!!

Trying something new

Hello Everyone,
Ok so I am trying this as an attempt to keep in touch with everyone. My cousin has a blog and I was quite fascinated with it so I am trying it myself. I know I am bad for not keeping in touch so at least this way you can all see what we are up to and comment if you like. I have been on here for an hour playing around and it is now well past my bed time so I am going to quite for tonight. I will hopefully have time tomorrow to do some more!! Goodnight!
