Looks like we may be "Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married......again!!

The kids were their normal selves this week. Cooper had some rough nights and was up every hour so I am a little tired. He now has a bit of a cold and still has not stopped drooling. I am thinking that he is teething but it has been a month of drool and eating his hand so I am not sure what is up with him. He is growing like a weed though, Steven says everyday "Mom, Tooper is getting bigger and bigger". Steven has offically given Cooper the nickname of Tooper so that is pretty much what we call him most the time!

As most of you know Steve and I are planning an adult only trip to Vegas. The first offical vacation with out the kids. We are going in August so we are getting our passports together. I filled everything out and we have everyones birth certificate except mine So I headed down to the registration office to get one on Thursday. While I was filling out the form I decided to get a copy of our Wedding certificate too just so we had one on hand. The lady is filling in all of the information and reading it all back to me. She says "Mulhall with one M-U-L-H-A-L-L, and both of you are born in Alberta?" I nod thinking it was just routine, then she tells me there is no certificate under that information. My jaw drops, I was shocked. I said what does that mean, she says that means there is no Marriage registered under my name or Steves. Yep, you read it right, we are not married in the eyes of the government. As I always do I use my sense of humor and pipe up that now I can marry the rich man I was meant to be with all along. I could not believe what was going on!! She told me either we have to find the paperwork from the wedding or we have to be married again!! I do not want all that drama again, the party I will take but if we have to get married again we are either going away or just going to a justice of the peace!! So as it stands today, Steve and I are unwed and our children are illegitamate.

Steve told everyone at work and they did not believe him because of the situation about fibbing who the real father of Steven was...but that is a whole other story! The first thing Steve wanted to do was have another Stag, I said to him, what makes you think I am going to marry you now?? LOL!! So needless to say we are both having alot of fun with this and laughing about it, I almost made him sleep on the couch since we are not married!! It has been a big laugh, Paige called today to ask "is uncle still my uncle?" I said "Uncle will always be your uncle honey". I am just worried that this may diminish my place in the McQueen family, no longer can I be Lorraines favorite Daughter in law....the competion was steep for that role and I worked hard to earn my spot....now it is gone!! LOL!! I guess I am just thankful this happened now instead of on our 40th wedding anniversary!!

So we are now living in Sin...and laughing all the way through it!!

Just a typical week

Well it has been a pretty slow week around here, not to much has happened! Steve is back working days again, I truely do prefer him on the afternoon shift but I don't have any control over that! Now I am subjected to either watching or listening to the hockey playoffs everynight....oh how I wish he was on the afternoon shift again. He has decided to allow Steven to cheer jointly for the Flames and the Canucks. He says until he is old enough to make the right choice he can cheer for both. He really only says "go hockey guys go" so he still has no clue what kind of war he will be growing up in if he decides to cheer for either team. With my mom and his Aunt Mara being true Flames fans and Dad being a Canuck fan I think he better just choose a different team altogether!!

We got a new TV the other day, not brand new but new to us! Steven was quite smitten with it and he still stands in front of it and says "Mom, that is a biiiggg TV". It is a 36 inch TV so not massive but big enough for our house!! Steven also has decided that I am his best friend, it makes me feel special until he tells the dog, his truck, the couch and whomever he is talking to that they are his best friend too. Heck, I told him we were going to meet a new friend that he had never met before and he said that that kid was his best friend too. He truely is my comic relief each day!

Not much has changed with Cooper, he is sleeping though the night most nights so I can't complain too much there. He is very happy and is developing a personality of his own. I think we are going to have two clowns on our hands when Cooper gets older. He is just as funny as his brother and can bring a smile to my face just as fast as Steven can! Oh yeah he can rollover now too, he truely is growing up too fast, it almost makes me think I want another....after a few minutes that feeling passes!!

As for me it is a daily struggle to stay honest to the diet. I am down a total of 81 pounds as of last week. I hope maybe if I talk about it here it will force me to stay on track! I have about another 50 pounds to get to my goal and I am going to be there by August so I have to stay on track now!!

As for the upcoming weekend, Steven is going for a sleepover with Nana & Papa and we will be enjoying a quiet evening at home with Cooper. Not too exciting but that is how I like it!!

Surprise.... Steve is 30!!

So on Friday April 6, Steve turned 30. Steven woke up and sang happy birthday to him first thing in the morning, he had practiced it about 30 times the day before and nailed it on the first try!! It was very cute. I had also trained my boy to tell daddy he is an "old man" and he too nailed this on the first try and every try after that. Now if you ask Steven what daddy is he will say "old man".

The day was pretty normal from there on, Steve had planned his own birthday by inviting a few of his close friends and family to dinner at Tony Romas. He was completely unaware that I had been planning an ambush surprise party for over a month! At 4:00 as we were all ready to go to "dinner" the doorbell rang and there were some friends and cousins here. Steve was a little surprised as he thought we were all just meeting at the restaurant but he went with it thinking they just came by for a drink before dinner. Then a few more come and he still is clueless but he says "well I guess we have time for one beer before we go to the restaurant". He had recruited Devon & Teri to get us a table so he figured we did not have anything to worry about. Well then Devon and Teri walked in the door too. Right about then I was on the floor laughing because it has been about 15 minutes there are now 10 to 15 people at the house and he was just finally clueing in as to what is going on. I seriously was on the floor laughing! I have to give cudos to my cousin David for playing Steve like a fiddle when he was talking about having to leave for dinner. Well the ambush worked like a charm, Steve was completely clueless. I can't believe after knowing me for 6 years he thought I had not done anything for him. You would think by now he would know that I take care of him!! All in all it was a great evening with family and friends thanks to everyone that could come and celebrate with us!!

A date with the Producers

To start last Saturday off a great note, I got to get a new outfit to wear since nothing fits. I am pleased to annouce I am offically down 12 sizes. I am so excited and I still can not wait to get to my goal, I am going to do it by August so I can go to Vegas with my slim and trim body! That way I can take full advantage of the great shopping while I am down there!! Steve better win big to pay for my shopping, lol!!

Once we were a spiffied up, and ready to go we realized we lost the dog. She used to be really good and we could let her out with out a leash but she got away on me about a month ago and ever since then she has become a runner. So in true McQueen fashion, as we were all ready to go, Steve was chasing down Daisy in his suit. Luckily a neighbor had grabbed her and tied her up until Steve came by so it was all good. Believe it or not almost the exact same thing happened last summer on our way to the Phantom of the Opera!! I guess we can expect it everytime we go to a stage show, maybe it is an omen or something!

After all the drama we dropped the kids off at Granny's house and my husband took me out on a wonderful date. We went to dinner at earls and then it was off to see the Producers on stage. We loved it. It was fabulous and one of the best stage shows I have seen. It is truthfully off color at times and is definately not for kids but I was entertained all night. It is by far my new faveorite!! It sure is nice to get out for an evening of fun with no kids, we sometimes forget to take time for us but then again we love sharing everything with the boys!
